1. A Greek and international team of divers and archaeologists has retrieved1 stunning new finds from an ancient Greek ship that sank more than 2,000 years ago off2 the remote island of Antikythera. The rescued antiquities include tableware, ship components, and a giant bronze spear that would have belonged to a life-sized warrior statue.
The Antikythera wreck was first discovered in 1900 by sponge divers who were blown off course by a storm. They subsequently recovered a spectacular haul of ancient treasure including bronze and marble statues, jewelry, furniture, luxury glassware, and the surprisingly complex Antikythera Mechanism. But they were forced to end their mission at the 55-meter-deep site after one diver died of the bends and two were paralyzed.3 Ever since, archaeologists have wondered if more treasure remains buried beneath the sea bed.
Components of the ship, including multiple lead anchors over a meter long and a bronze rigging ring with fragments of wood still attached, prove that much of the ship survives. The finds4 are also scattered over a much larger area than the sponge divers realized, covering 300 meters of the seafloor. This together with the huge size of the anchors and recovered hull planks proves that the Antikythera ship was much larger than previously thought, perhaps up to 50 meters long.
“The evidence shows this is the largest ancient shipwreck ever discovered,” says archaeologist Brendan Foley. “It’s the Titanic of the ancient world.”
The archaeologists also recovered a beautiful intact table jug, part of an ornate bed leg5, and most impressive of all, a 2-meter-long bronze spear buried just beneath the surface of the sand. Too large and heavy to have been used as a weapon, it must have belonged to a giant statue, perhaps a warrior or the goddess Athena, says Foley. In 1901, four giant marble horses were discovered on the wreck by the sponge divers, so these could have formed part of a complex of statues involving a warrior in a chariot that was pulled by the four horses.
The shipwreck dates from 70 to 60 B.C. and is thought to have been carrying a luxury cargo of Greek treasures from the coast of Asia Minor west to Rome. Antikythera stands in the middle of this major shipping route and the ship probably sank when a violent storm smashed it against the island’s sheer cliffs.
2.介词off表示“离开,偏离”,如live off the main street(住在主街附近)、off course(偏离航线)。
5.前面提到不定冠词a/an不一定非要译出,但本句中的a beautiful intact table jug和part of an ornate bed leg作为列举的具体内容,应明确写出数量“一把”和“一条”。

The Rural E-Commerce Demonstration Program annually selects a limited number of flew counties, many of which are poverty-stricken, to demonstrate the role of e-commerce for poverty alleviation in rural areas. The provinces determine which counties will be included in the program using logistics, Internet availability, and characteristic industries as criteria. By 2018, the program had supported 1,016 demonstration counties, including 737 poverty-stricken counties, among them 137 ones with extreme poverty.
According to the Ministry of Commerce, by the end of 2016, the program had created 120,000 jobs for poor households. Online stores registered in rural areas grew from 8.17 million in 2016 to 9.86 million in 2017 and resulted in 28 million jobs. With the assistance of the program, e-commerce enterprises have accelerated their penetration into rural areas and cooperated with demonstration counties to help implement the program. At least 15 e-commerce companies have joined the effort to reduce poverty in rural areas.
3.“根据某机构的数据”一般直接译成according to the organization,不说according to data from the organization。

1. The Ionian order was traditionally1 derived from the form of a young maiden. Doric and Ionic orders have deep psychological and cultural roots. They are named after the two main Greek language groups, which coincide with a geographic distinction—Doric settlers arrived in mainland Greece, Ionian in Asia Minor.2 At the beginning that is how the architectural forms were distributed. The appearance of the Ionian order on the Erechtheion is one of the earliest on the mainland, which is sometimes explained functionally as a way of setting the later structure3 off against the Parthenon.
The Dew Parthenon of 447-432 B.C. was and remained the largest temple in mainland Greece. No other building has been found to incorporate so many refinements in the form of deviations from simple rectangularity4. Every line is bowed away from straightness; every interval is individually adjusted. Most of the variance is too slight to be visible to an unaided eye5—only in certain spots can we see the stylobate—highest step of the temple’s stone plinth—declining slightly away from the center.
All these adjustments would have made the temple much more difficult to build. Its contemporaries may have been better than we are at detecting them, but it is not agreed that they all tend in a consistent direction.6 After all the theories that the adjustments correct the building into optical regularity, it seems possible that their intention is quite different—to lessen the monotonous sameness of the Doric format rigidly adhered to.
Having finally achieved this miracle of inconspicuous individuality in every element of a temple7, it seems the Greeks never bothered with it again. Interest in such optical distortions declined, and they are not found together in later temples, not even Apollo Epikouros at Bassae, often attributed to Iktinos, architect of the Parthenon.
